Xillash Battleship

Include a flavor-description of the ship here
The Xillash Volcano-class battleship is a new development, identified only recently by the wider Galaxy. It is an extension of the Sandstorm-class assault cruiser, though it has been significantly redesigned for its much larger spaceframe. The Volcano-class is assumed to be rare still, as the Xillash probably find them very expensive to build and outfit.

Volcano-class battleships are the strongest ships produced by the Xillash. Like many of the newest Xillash models, they are capable of punching significantly above their weight; however, their restricted speeds and maneuverabilities leave them vulnerable to hit-and-run tactics.

Missile Launcher (6) 2 front, 2 left, 2 right 5 missile weapons 3D 2/4/6 50-200/400/600 8D

Special Notes

  1. The railguns ignore ray shielding systems and fire projectiles heavy enough to punch through standard craft particle shields. Craft that are specially refitted with overpowered particle shields may use their shield rating when resisting railgun fire.
  2. The plasma torch fires a short-range burst of superheated plasma in a wide arc in front of the craft. The high FC is due to the wide spread of the superheated plasma. The downside of the plasma torch is the long refresh time between shots; it can only fire once per minute.
  3. The Xillash arm their assault cruisers with their highest-yield weapons, which are similar in construction to standard concussion missiles. However, they use a much larger missile with a directed-projectile multi-stage warhead designed to defeat energy shielding. This means that the missiles do capital-scale damage, but they cost considerably more (and are considerably larger) than standard concussion missiles.
  4. Xillashi ships only have limited weapons stores.  They pack a surprising punch for their size.  But they, much like the Xillash themselves, can't stand for super-long fights.  Stores for this ship:

 # Railguns: 120 volleys each.
 # Plasma Torches:  Plasma for 44 firings each.
 # Missile Racks:  4 missiles per launcher.

Xillash Carrier

The Xillash Nest-class carrier is the Xillashi race's first attempt at building a full-scale ship capable of carrying small fighter craft. The Xillashi began building Nest-class carriers to deploy fighters to help defend their powerful but slow capital ships from hit-and-run assaults.

Nest-class carriers have an internal maintenance and repair bay capable of holding 6 fighters. They also have external racks capable of holding 36 fighters. The racks are partially shielded by large, armored "wings" that extend both forward and aft of the docking clamps.
