Average Imperial Stormtroopers

These statistics and equipment loadout are for an average Imperial Stormtrooper (the ones wearing the white armor) who has seen a little bit of action. Experienced soldiers are likely to have higher skills in relevant fields. Additionally, some Stormtroopers will have specialized in one area or another - for example, snipers may have higher blaster skill at the expense of some other skills.

The equipment listed is carried by essentially every Stormtrooper. The actual equipment loadout may vary, depending on mission and specialty. For example, Stormtroopers may carry a few thermal detonators or other grenades if the mission calls for it. Also, squadrons of Stormtroopers often have a heavy weapons specialist carrying a missile launcher, heavier blaster, or components of an emplaced weapon such as an E-Web.

Much of the credit for these profiles belongs to the South Dakota Star Wars blog - the entire Stormtrooper profile starts from that author's, though I have tweaked it somewhat. I agree fully with the opinion of the author that Stormtroopers absolutely should be elite combat units. There are other perfectly valid reasons why the heroes in the Star Wars films managed to survive multiple encounters with Stormtroopers; I don't subscribe to the explanation of "the Stormtroopers were crappy shots."
