Melle Taylan is Maleos's mother and is married to Lowell.
Former entertainer and storyteller. Grew up in family that travelled around Violetford farms and woods. Met, fell in love with, and travelled with Lowell during one of his merchant caravan expeditions. After becoming pregnant with Maleos, settled in Violetford and began entertaining there occasionally as a storyteller. Maleos's birth was difficult, and Melle found herself unable to have more children, so Maleos is an only child.
At the start of the campaign, Melle is 38 years old.
